How does atSite stop buddy clocking?

Three things at once. Clocking in is checked against the workplace boundary, so nobody clocks in from home. A phone belongs to one employee, so signing in as a colleague on your own phone is refused. And Face ID or a fingerprint confirms who is holding the phone.

Does it track staff outside working hours?

No. Location tracking starts when someone clocks in and stops when they clock out. Between shifts and on days off it collects nothing. Managers see whether someone is on site or away from site, not a map of where they went.

How do staff join?

You share a six character join code. Your team downloads the app, enters the code, chooses a PIN and waits for you to approve them. No email addresses needed, which matters when half a workforce does not have a work email.

Does it work if an employee closes the app?

Yes. Leaving and arriving at a site is detected by the phone operating system, so it still records even if the app has been closed. The regular checks in between only run while the app is alive.
